Communal Kitchen and Hammock Lounge
Las Palmas Maya presents our newly constructed communal kitchen and hammock lounge! While discovering new restaurants is part of the fun of traveling, dining out every meal can get quite costly.
Being able to prepare small meals in our kitchen allows our guests to save a few dollars and perhaps splurge a little when they do go out.
This spacious facility gives our guests the opportunity to prepare as few or as many meals as they wish, all while enjoying screened in comfort with modern equipment. Our kitchen features two cooking spaces, several prep areas, pantry, refrigerator, two dining tables, bar stools, U-shaped sitting nook, small lending library and WIFI.
The “Hammock Lounge” is a lovely second story deck, overlooking the tree tops. It is a shady place in which to take a nap, read, or simply hang out while enjoying the cool breeze.
We provide each guest a bottle of water in their room, upon arrival. A 5 gallon bottle is also stocked in the kitchen, and guests are more than welcome to refill their personal water bottles any time.
We have been told we have the “best showers at the beach”! Our system is pressurized and hot and cold water is available at all times….24/7.
Complimentary hot coffee is provided every morning, along with cream and sugar.
WiFi is available 24/7. We have invested in a powerful booster so that guests may access their laptops or smartphones from anywhere on the property.
For those that have never been to Tulum before, this may not seem like such a big deal. It is! All hotels in the Tulum Beach Zone are off the grid, meaning they generate their own power via generators, solar panels and wind turbines. There are no power lines coming from a municipal electric company. All but the most expensive hotels offer power intermittently…sometimes for just 4 or 5 hours per day.
Las Palmas Maya has made a substantial investment in green energy. Our new highly efficient diesel generator system is complete with an entire room full of batteries, inverters and charge controllers and is complimented with 16 high power solar panels. This sophisticated system allows the generator to only run approximately 3 hours per day providing our guests with the luxury of power all day and all night.
